Guardamar will once again bring together the Auroros groups of the Vega Baja del Segura and Bajo Vinalopó next Sunday, 18 October, for the 41st regional gathering. The event has been organised by the Grupo de Auroros Virgen del Rosario after a year of preparations. The town will once again host the event, having previously done so in 1997.

The day will begin in the early hours with the traditional Despierta, during which the groups will walk through the town’s streets singing. This will be followed by the Santo Rosario, led by Bishop José Ignacio Munilla.

Groups from 19 towns in the region will take part in this year’s event. After the early-morning activities, the square by the Ayuntamiento (Town Hall) will host the Santa Misa Aurora and the presentation of a commemorative ribbon for the participants’ banners. The gathering will conclude with a communal breakfast. It will also be announced that San Fulgencio will host the next event, scheduled for 2027.

The Grupo de Auroros Virgen del Rosario would like to express its heartfelt thanks to everyone who has given their time, effort and enthusiasm to make this gathering possible. Their support and commitment have been essential in bringing about this very special event for Guardamar and the wider region.

The gathering is an opportunity to keep alive one of the Vega Baja’s most deeply rooted traditions. The Auroros’ songs, associated with the Rosary and religious celebrations, are part of the region’s cultural heritage and reflect the bond between its towns and their customs. This tradition continues to bring generations together around a shared heritage.
