A new digital news project launches in Guardamar del Segura on 10 October 2026. It aims to bring residents news about the municipality while also offering content on other topics. The initiative plans to involve contributors and feature proposals from local residents, professionals and organisations.
Coverage will include news from Guardamar, Alicante province, Spain and the rest of the world. Planned topics include municipal affairs, local businesses, associations, festivals and issues affecting everyday life in the town. The project will also cover the economy, culture, sport, the environment and social life.
The project is intended as a space open to a range of voices. Its aim is to bring together contributions from people with experience or an interest in different fields and make it easier for residents and organisations to share information and proposals. This participation can broaden the range of subjects covered and make room for diverse perspectives on local life.
Anyone wishing to contribute will be able to submit opinion pieces, features, information about an association’s activities or ideas for new sections. The editorial team can be contacted through the channels provided on its website and social media accounts.
With its launch, Guardamar gains a new option for accessing local news and following wider issues in one place. The initiative begins with the potential to grow through contributions from readers and contributors, and to add topics that reflect the community’s interests.
