Mario Izquierdo, Guardamar’s towering beauty contestant, heads for Mister RNB Spain

Guardamar del Segura has a representative in the country’s leading national men’s beauty pageant. Mario Izquierdo, 27, and 1.91 metres tall, is competing this week in Salou (Tarragona) as Mister RNB Castellón 2026 in the Mister RNB Spain contest. The final will take place on Saturday 24 October at 22:00 at the Salou Auditorium Theatre.

Roots in Guardamar

Although he lives in Valencia and spends much of his time in Castellón de la Plana, Mario has his roots in Guardamar del Segura, according to the contest organisers. He also belongs to one of the town’s best-known families, “los Starmis”, so local residents are following his campaign with particular affection.

More than just a pretty face

There is much more to him than his looks. Mario is a commercial pilot and is waiting to join an airline. He is also a professionally licensed drone pilot, and his hobbies include jiu-jitsu and motorcycling.

Not his first time

The Guardamar-born contestant is already familiar with the national pageant. In 2023, he won Mister RNB Valencia and represented the province in Mister RNB Spain, in the first edition held in Salou. He made it through to the 12 semi-finalists and received the award from sponsor One Air Escuela de Aviación.

A week of activities and competition

The 52 provincial candidates are staying together at Alannia Salou Resort from 19 to 25 October. The Preliminary round will take place on Friday 23 at 18:00. The sash presentation was due to be held on the breakwater at Salou harbour, but had to be moved to the Auditorium Theatre on Monday because of the rain. The final will select Spain’s representatives for Mister Supranational, Mister International and Mister Global.

Guardamar can help him reach the final

People in Guardamar can support Mario from home. According to the organisers, each ‘like’ on the official RNB Castellón Facebook and Instagram pages counts towards the Multimedia round, and the winner receives a direct place in the final. To support him:
