Guardamar Soccer 1–3 Sporting Saladar: Senior match result

Soccer started brightly and dominated the match. They created chances and the home side seemed to have things well under control. The opening goal came after a good move down the wing by Rodri, who found Cabrera to finish in the box (1–0). The teams went in at half-time with the home side looking well placed to extend their lead.

However, after the break the Guardamar players looked a little unsure against a more intense Saladar side determined to come back. The equaliser came after a defensive error while playing the ball out from the back, followed by a good dribble and finish from the Almoradí player (1–1). After the goal, Saladar came to life and things stopped going the home side’s way. Shortly afterwards, another error playing out from the back led to a corner after Álvaro’s long clearance. From the corner, a cross found three players ready to head the ball home from close range, putting the visitors ahead (1–2). Before Soccer could show their fighting spirit and try to come back, they conceded a third in the next move. A long-range free kick from a wide position caught the goalkeeper out of position and put the match beyond reach (3–1).

Soccer could have reduced the deficit in the closing stages, but the score remained unchanged, leaving the team without a point this season.

Battered but not beaten, they travel to Cox next weekend.

After this round of matches, Guardamar Soccer sit 15th in the table with 0 points from 5 matches (0 wins, 0 draws and 5 defeats).
