Generalitat launches grants of up to €10,000 for businesses affected by Storm Adam

The Generalitat Valenciana will open applications on 2 November for emergency grants to help cover damage caused by Storm Adam, which struck on 18 and 19 October. Applications can be submitted until 1 February 2027.

Decree 174/2026 sets a fixed grant of €10,000 for each affected premises used by a retailer, tourism business or industrial company. To qualify, the business must be located in one of the municipalities listed in the official appendix, have suffered a direct impact — material damage, interruption or restriction of its activity — and continue or resume trading in the Valencian Community within a maximum of six months.

Agricultural and livestock businesses have a separate grant scheme, with the amount depending on an individual assessment of damage to crops, facilities, equipment or animals. The programme has an initial budget of €10 million. Grants will be awarded in the order in which complete applications are received, until the funding runs out.

A second package of grants has also been approved for vehicles declared a total loss as a direct result of the storm. Amounts range from €200 for a motor cultivator to €15,000 for certain buses and coaches. Grants of up to €2,000 are available for a car, €750 for a motorcycle and €5,000 for an agricultural tractor.

To qualify for a vehicle grant, the vehicle must have been insured, declared a total loss by the insurer or the Insurance Compensation Consortium, and temporarily taken off the road before the application is submitted. The grants can be combined with compensation and other funding, provided the total does not exceed the actual cost of the damage.

For Guardamar residents: the appendices to the published decrees include Guardamar de la Safor, but not Guardamar del Segura. The inclusion therefore does not cover Guardamar del Segura, unless a subsequent official update to the list of eligible areas provides otherwise.

Applications from businesses, shops and agricultural and livestock businesses must be submitted online through the Generalitat’s e-office. For vehicle destruction grants, individuals without access to electronic services can receive assistance at offices set up by the Generalitat and the town councils of the affected municipalities.
