Pilar de la Horadada receives €2,000 for sustainable tourism promotion

Pilar de la Horadada will receive €2,000 from the Costa Blanca Provincial Tourism Board to produce sustainable tourism promotional material. The grant, managed by the Tourism Department, aims to showcase the town’s attractions and experiences and strengthen its image as a destination.

The award is part of the province-wide 2026 tourism promotion funding programme. The Board’s Governing Council approved the grants, and the decision was published in issue 142 of the Alicante Provincial Gazette on 30 July. The Town Council announced the grant on 23 October.

The funding falls under two provincial schemes: one for town councils and local authorities, and another for non-profit organisations. Alicante Provincial Council set a combined budget of €1.1 million for both. Eligible projects include promoting the natural environment and sustainable experiences, as well as environmental awareness campaigns.

For the town, the funding will help produce promotional resources focused on sustainability and raise the profile of its tourism offer. The 2023–2026 Strategic Tourism Plan for Pilar de la Horadada includes improving promotion and diversifying the destination among its aims, with proposals such as water-based and sports activities, sustainable routes and ecotourism.

The grant is therefore part of the measures set out in the town’s plan and of the provincial funding intended to boost tourism promotion on the Costa Blanca.
