Torrevieja lays on three days of free buses to the cemetery for All Saints’ Day

Torrevieja will provide free buses to the Municipal Cemetery from Friday 30 October to Sunday 1 November 2026 for All Saints’ Day. The service will link five points in the city with the cemetery, with more frequent services on Sunday, the feast day.

Stops will be at María Asunción square; the San Esteban neighbourhood, opposite Bar Manolo; 41 San Policarpo Street; the bus interchange at 8 Doctor Gregorio Marañón Street; Acequión Health Centre; and the Municipal Cemetery.

On Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, buses will leave María Asunción square at 10:30, 11:45 and 16:15. Return services from the cemetery will depart at 11:15, 12:30 and 17:00.

On Sunday 1 November, there will be six outward services, at 10:00, 11:15, 12:30, 14:00, 16:00 and 17:15. Return services are scheduled for 10:45, 12:00, 13:15, 15:30, 16:45 and 18:00. The timetables and stops are listed in Torrevieja Town Hall’s announcement.

The councillor responsible for cemeteries, Sandra Sánchez, also announced a Local Police operation to monitor access roads and car parks at the cemeteries in Torrevieja and La Mata. A rosary will be said at the municipal cemetery on 1 November at 16:30, followed by a Mass for the dead at 17:00. Mass will be held in La Mata at 16:30.

The service makes it easier for people visiting to remember their loved ones and offers an alternative to using a private car on a particularly busy day. Residents can use the listed stops and plan their journey around the outward and return times.

The measure is part of preparations to ensure the city’s cemeteries can meet demand. In July 2026, the council approved an initial Special Plan to expand Torrevieja cemetery, covering 16,834 square metres, of which 7,187 are allocated to municipal facilities. The council proposed the expansion to ensure there is enough capacity for the next 20 years. In December 2025, it also awarded a contract worth €253,493.79, including VAT, for work on four blocks containing 296 niches.
