Distribuciones RMI celebrates its 50th anniversary with a gala attended by more than 300 guests

Guardamar enjoyed one of those evenings people remember for years on Thursday, 15 October. Distribuciones RMI, the company founded in 1976 by Rosario Martínez Iborra—whose initials give the business its name—celebrated its 50th anniversary with an elegant gala at its premises in the Santa Ana industrial estate, attended by more than 300 guests.

The evening brought together leading figures from Guardamar society. Local political representatives, prominent businesspeople from the town and the wider area, and familiar faces from Guardamar’s social scene gathered for an anniversary no one wanted to miss. They were joined by customers, suppliers, partners, family and friends, who raised a glass to a company that has spent half a century growing alongside the area’s hospitality and retail sectors.

Guests began arriving from 7 pm at premises that had been completely transformed for the occasion. Carefully designed staging, with warm, enveloping lighting and the gold and blue colours of the 50th anniversary taking centre stage, turned the space into a true gala room. Barrels, bottle displays and cabinets showcasing the finest products recalled the essence of the business.

Live music set the pace for an elegant, celebratory evening that continued into the early hours. One of the most popular moments was the beer tasting, where guests could discover and sample different varieties and styles with guidance from those who know the product best. RMI is, after all, an official distributor of Mahou and Coca-Cola, two brands that are part of its identity.

The exquisite catering lived up to the occasion, with a food offering that guests praised and which accompanied each toast to the company’s 50 years in business.

Fifty years after it was founded, Distribuciones RMI paid tribute to those who have made its story possible: the customers who put their trust in the company every day, the suppliers who support it, and the team whose work has sustained its growth. Its history has been tied to the business community of Guardamar and the Vega Baja since 1976, and shone as brightly as it deserved to on this evening.
